Robert R. Jenkins* graduated from Lebanon Valley College and the
University of Baltimore School of Law. He served as chairperson for the
National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives and
testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means
Committee on Social Security Disability matters. Mr. Jenkins has also been
a speaker at a workshop for the National Joint Conference on Law and
Aging. He founded the firm in 1977 and retired in 2004.
Managing partner
Bruce D. Block* graduated from the University of Maryland with a
Bachelor of Science in Journalism and the
University of Baltimore School of Law. He has been practicing with the
firm since 1980. He has been a speaker for the Maryland
Vocational Educational and Work Adjustment Association, the Maryland
Workers Compensation Educational Association and the Maryland Institute
for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers. He is a sustaining
member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants'
Representatives (NOSSCR). Mr. Block's practice focuses on
representing claimant's before the Social Security Administration and
Workers' Compensation Commission, as well as individuals who have been
injured as a result of another's negligence.
W. James Nicoll*
graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Business Administration. He completed his law degree at the
University of Baltimore School of Law, graduating magna cum laude
in 1995. While attending law school, Mr. Nicoll was elected into the Heiusler
Honor Society in recognition of his academic achievements.
Mr. Nicoll
has worked as an attorney with Jenkins, Block & Associates, P.C., since
February 1997. After gaining extensive experience representing
individuals in their claims for Social Security benefits, at both the
administrative and appellate levels, Mr. Nicoll's practice now focuses primarily
on representing personal injury clients throughout the state of
Maryland. Mr. Nicoll represents individuals who have been injured on the job,
as well as individuals who have been injured as a result of another's
negligence. In his practice, Mr. Nicoll has tried cases at the Circuit Court
level in multiple jurisdictions throughout the State. Additionally,
Mr. Nicoll
has appeared before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. Mr.
Nicoll is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the
Maryland Trial Lawyers Association.
Sean P. Kavanagh**
graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg Virginia and
attended the University of
Baltimore School of Law, where he graduated with honors in 1991. Mr. Kavanagh has
been with Jenkins, Block and Associates since 1990, is now a partner in
the firm, and has managed the firm's
Richmond, Virginia office since 1993. He is a member of the
National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives (NOSSCR)
and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association. He has taught numerous
continuing legal education courses and lectured various organizations on
the subjects of social security disability and workers' compensation
benefits. Mr Kavanagh has extensive federal court appellate
experience contesting social security disability denials and has
successfully argued cases before the Virginia Court of Appeals.
A graduate of Western Maryland College and the University of Baltimore
School of Law,
Paul R. Schlitz, JR.* has over twenty years of experience representing
Social Security claimants. He was a presenter at the Spring 2005 conference for the
National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR).
Mr. Schlitz' practice focuses on representing claimant's before the
Social Security Administration and he has been litigating Social
Security Disability appeals in the Federal Court since 1985.
Yolanda
Darby-Richardson* received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal
Justice and a Bachelor of Arts in History from
the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with both degrees magna
cum laude. She received her Masters from the University of Maryland
in U.S. History and attended law school at the University of Maryland.
She is an active member of the Women's Law Center and speaks at
continuing education seminars for healthcare providers and community
groups regarding Social Security Disability benefits. In addition,
she is a member of the National Organization of Social Security
Claimants' Representative (NOSSCR).
Monique L. Lee*, the latest addition to the attorneys of Jenkins,
Block & Associates,
graduated cum laude from Coppin State College with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Criminal Justice. She completed her law degree,
with honors, at Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.
Her practice focuses on representing claimant's before the Social
Security Administration.
